A native of Kansas City, Kansas, Joseph Hu received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His work has been included in local, national and international exhibitions. He is a recipient of a 2002 Visual Arts Fellowship from the Independence Foundation and was Artist in Residence in the spring of 2003 at the Altes Spital Begegnungszentrum in Solothurn, Switzerland. Most recently, he was Artist in Residence at The Holter Museum of Art, Helena, Montana in 2007. Joseph was a member of the Philadelphia artists cooperative, Vox Populi from 2001 until 2006, where he also served as President and member of the Board of Directors.
